**Switch to archivelog mode : **

shutdown immediate;
startup mount;

alter database archivelog;

alter database open;

alter system switch logfile;
archive log list;

**Check the recovery area :**
<sxh sql>
show parameter recovery
</sxh>


**Change between archivelog / noarchivelog mode **

shutdown immediate;
startup mount;
alter database archivelog / noarchivelog;
alter database open;
